Texas Guinan in Whirl of the World, 1914

HER STAGE CAREER

Texas Guinan made her mark on the musical comedy circuit between 1907 and 1917.  Taking whatever roles were available, she trouped in vaudeville as a solo artist and was frequently cast in the road company of a show, which meant touring constantly.
.
Her big break came in October 1917, when Triangle Films signed her and she was off to the West Coast to make a number of Westerns during the silent screen era.
.
After she became known as a speakeasy hostess, her stage career resumed and she appeared on Broadway in “Revues, “Gay Paree,” and “Padlocks of 1927.”
